When should you order your invitations? Mail them? Send reminders?
We get this question all. the. time. So here’s a super simple breakdown to keep you on track and stress-free.
6–8 Months Before
Start working with your designer (hi!) on your custom invitation suite
→ Finalize guest list, confirm venues, decide on any insert cards
5–6 Months Before
Approve your design and order printed materials
→ This gives us time for any specialty printing, die-cuts, or wax seals
2–3 Months Before
Mail your invitations
→ Earlier if it’s a destination wedding or you’re inviting lots of out-of-towners
6–8 Weeks Before
Track RSVPs and follow up on missing responses
→ (And yes, you’ll get a few last-minute surprises)
Hot tip:
Add buffer time for addressing envelopes, assembling layers, and making it all perfect. Especially if you’re hand-tying ribbons or using vintage stamps (both fab, both time-consuming).
